HOT!  ACTION NEEDED!!!

Dog daycare businesses not welcome
in quiet Vancouver neighborhoods

On July 12, 2010 the Vancouver City Council will consider a proposal to allow Dog Daycare in Low Density Residential areas (R2-R9) in the City of Vancouver,  (30 dogs,  50' from your property line, from 6am to 9pm, 2 acres).  There are 118 properties in Vancouver that fit those loose parameters.

If this proposal passes, it could damage property values, and could result in lower rent from properties due to noise, increased traffic and the smell created by 30 dogs. Dog day care is EXEMPT from present noise regulations. There is not enough funding or staff at animal control to deal with any problems a dog daycare might create.

If you believe it is a bad idea to allow a Dog Daycare (or ANY commercial business) in a Low Density Residential area in Vancouver, please let your voice be heard. Write, call or email your city councilmember immediately.
